Frequent Cold And Cough
Do you know the first reason for the kids visiting to doctors and staying absent from school is the frequent cold and cough. If your child is getting more than 6 colds in a year then you have to be cautious. If in this stage you are casual then it may land your child in bronchitis or asthma later.
The frequent cold is due to respiratory tract infection. Approximate 25 % of the school children suffer from this.
Cause-
Mostly respiratory tract infection is due to a micro-organism called Rhinovirus. These viruses can pass through our protective filter lining of nose and mouth. These are very much present in the air we breathe in and on the things we touch.
Real cause
Homoeopathy is not satisfied in saying that the micro-organism as the mere cause of the disease. If rhinovirus is the cause why all who comes in contact of that virus do not get affected by it? The air we breathe is full of viruses but we all do not get the infection. It is because every individual used to have a body immunity which is responsible for protecting the individual from being affected by disease. When that immunity is lowered we catch the infection rapidly.
You may ask some times 1 -2 years infants also get frequent cold. What’s wrong with their immunity? Yes immunity is not lowered only because of wrong diet, regimen, stress etc. but also it can be inherited. For example if anybody from parents or grand parents is or was having any skin problem then the child used to have skin or respiratory sensitivity for which he/she gets frequent cold. In homoeopathy this genetic tendency has got the best treatment.
Hence I say the real cause is not the rhinovirus but the genetic tendency to catch cold. Readers can know more about genetic tendency from my book –Know homoeopathy know health.
Contagious-
Colds are very often contagious. The symptoms of cold appear within 2-4 days after viruses enter the body. The person affected by cold can spread the infection to others by means of the things used by him like towel, food etc. The rhinovirus can travel upto 12 feet when some cold affected person coughs or sneezes. Touching the mouth after touching the surface which is contaminated with rhinovirus infects the healthy person.
Symptoms-
Sneezing, runny or stuffy nose, runny eyes, headache, fever, cough, snoring, sore throat, breathlessness, body ache, fatigue, decreased appetite, weight loss, sleeping with opened mouth etc.
Prevention-
1 .Do not share the eating vessels with the cold affected person
2. If you are having cold then wash your hands with soap immediately after blowing the nose.
3. Avoid the food and drinks that bring cold in you.
4. Cover the nose and mouth while coughing and sneezing.
Cure-Before explaining you about the cure let us know the misconceptions of cure.
1.”Time cures all.” This is a misunderstanding among people that cold is a trifle problem and automatically it will be cured after some days. But mind it , recurrent cold is not to be dealt with casualty It needs proper attention in order to prevent other major problems like bronchitis, asthma etc.
2. Taking antibiotics each time and getting rid of it is also not a cure. Rather that worsens the conditions. That will further decrease the resistance and also spoils the health with unwanted side effects.
3. Many suggest removing the tonsils will bring cure but evidence in support is lacking.
4. Nasal spray (Allopathy) used to relive nasal blockage lowers adrenalin in the body which produces fatigue, tiredness etc.
Cure in homoeopathy-
Homeopathy has got holistic approach of cure. By taking the present complaints it removes the suffering and by considering the past medical history and family medical history it corrects the genetic tendency. Hence prevents the recurrence.
Homoeopathy stimulates the defence mechanism in the body. Hence there is no side effect.
For lasting relief without side effect homoeopathy is the most reliable therapy.
