Though I’ve very well justified this topic in my book ‘KNOW HOMOEOPATHY KNOW HEALTH’ under the chapter of ‘first visit to a homoeopath’ but here I am giving you a recently cured case of VERTIGO(head reeling) with Tinnitus aurium (ringing in the ear) which was treated symptomatically and recovered rapidly.
Case-Mr K (name changed) aged 29 came to my clinic on 25th july 08 having the following complaints.
1. Ringing noise in the ear constantly since 3 years.
2.Vertigo with nausea and vomiting since 2 years .Severe attack of vertigo in every 2-3 days compelling him to take bed rest for following 2 days.
Past medical history suggests that at the age of 15 he started complaining of irritation in right ear which was relived by allopathic medication. Then the complaint recurred every now and then with increasing frequency and intensity. Now for last 3 years it is constantly troubling him. He has added another problem of severe head reeling since last 2 years. In the mean time he has undergone all possible investigation (starting from X-Ray to Audiometry) as suggested by various ENT specialists.
After taking the case details the following symptoms were repertorised.
-Right ear noise
-Vertigo lying ameliorates
-Ear fullness sensation of
-Vertigo with nausea and vomiting
-Ottitis interna (inflammation of internal ear; pathological cause of noise in ear)
These symptoms upon repertorisation indicated remedy – PHOSPHOROUS
Murphy repertory suggests single remedy for syphilitic vertigo as –AURUM MET
Both the remedies are given at suitable intervals
After 24 days on 19th august 08 patient reports of 80% improvement in all complaints. Medicine was repeated.
After 16 days patient reports of no complaints On 4th September 08.Complete relief of noise in ear and no more attack of vertigo since last medicine.
