Kidney failure is the condition where the kidney fails to do its functions that is removing excess fluid and waste from the blood. Thus a lot of retention of fluid, toxins in the body takes place. Also there is a lack of red blood cells.
1. Diabetes-Diabetes is the most common cause of kidney disease. 40 % of the diabetics used to develop complication of kidney damage.
2. Hypertension- It is the second most common cause of kidney disease.15 % of kidney failure is due to hypertension. Hypertension or high blood pressure is defined as a blood pressure reading of greater than 140/90* in adults over 18 years of age. It is estimated that hypertension affects 20% of the adult population in most countries.
3. Other causes include-Polycystic kidney disease, kidney stone, kidney infection, pylonephritis, hypertension, etc.
1. Swelling of feet, lower limb, and eye lids.
2. Puffiness of the face.
3. Itching of the skin with blackening and hardening.
4. Fatigue.
5. Reduced quantity of urine
6. Increased blood urea, protein in urine, albumin in urine etc.
In the early stage of the disease medicinal treatment is given while in the later stage of the disease either dialysis or transplantation is done.
1. Dialysis is the process of removing waste matter and maintaining electrolyte balance through diffusion. In the healthy condition it is performed by the kidneys. But in kidney patients this is performed by artificial means.
2. Transplantation-It is estimated that every year over 100, 000 people are diagnosed to have kidney failure in India. Out of which only about 2,500 kidney transplants are done.
Both in early and later stage homoeopathic medicines found to be working. Medicines on the basis of present sign and symptoms efficiently postpones* the dialysis and transplantation. Intercurrent constitutional remedy often prevents recurrence.
Medicines like; Adonis ver., Apis mel., Ars alb., phosphorous etc are useful. However always take the prescribed medicine.
If kidney failure is not treated properly it may lead to diabetes and heart disease.
